Artist Statement

Chayton Pabich Danyla (he/they) is triple-threat performer and writer who splits his time between Atlanta and New York. His work explores love, loss, queer magic and the collision point of politics and humanity.

Raised in rural Georgia, Chayton's artistic practice is shaped by Southern Gothic traditions, folk ritual, and a fascination with characters on the edge of transformation. His award-winning solo performances have played in Atlanta and Off-Broadway. His work often draws on ancestral heritage, bilingual storytelling, and queer identity, tracing topics from military deployment to the poetry of Federico García Lorca. His personal poetry and prose has been published by Dream Boy Book Club and The Car Crash Collective.

Chayton holds a B.A. with Honors from Yale University, where he rigorously trained in acting, movement, and vocal technique. During this time, he discovered playwriting and began creating and producing original work, centering underrepresented voices and queer stories throughout history.

In another life, Chayton was an evolutionary biologist who specialized in genetics and researched some Lophotrochozoa. As much as he tries, he cannot escape his background in STEM.
